GeolOil - Bug Free Software Guarantee
It is difficult to find a bug in GeolOil. It runs seamlessly open for days without any issues, even with huge files. We are so confident in our software, that if a reproducible bug is found, we will pay the user a cash reward.
• Bug guarantee time slot window status: On. Since November 5th, 2025.
Terms and Conditions
-
The Payment Rewards Program may not be active at all times.
At our discretion, the rewards program time slot window may be switched on/off at any time without previous notice. -
The bug rewards guarantee applies to eligible paid customers only.
Only customers that purchased regular class licenses T, L, and P, are eligible for the rewards payment program. Free (F) licenses, Donation (D) licenses, and Student (S) licenses are not eligible for the program. Furthermore, only customers from USA and Canada are eligible. Payment rewards would be made via PayPal to the originating payment account. -
Payment reward amounts
Each confirmed first, new bug report will be rewarded with a cash payment of $250 USD. The maximum total rewards amount would be the minimum between $1,000 USD and the completed price paid for the license. For Example:
- A user purchases a six months Leased (L) license for a price of $1,280 USD on a single completed payment, and finds 5 bugs. The payment would be $1,000 USD. (The minimum between 5*$250=$1,250, the $1,000 ceiling, and the license price of $1,280 USD, is $1,000 USD)
- If the same user finds only two bugs, the payment would be $500 USD. (The minimum between 2*$250=$500, the $1,000 ceiling, and the license price of $1,280 USD, is $500 USD)
- A user purchases a two months 1st. Time (T) license for a price of $448 USD, and finds 2 bugs. The payment would be $480 USD. So effectively the user will get a free, regular, full license for two months. (The minimum between 2*$250=$500, the $1,000 ceiling, and the license price of $448 USD, is $448 USD)

Bug Definition, and bug-free guarantee applicability.
A program bug is a severe malfunction of the program caused by a logic error on our source code. Aspects like unsuitable equations, mathematical accuracy, geo-science modeling, and algorithms, are not considered as computational program bugs, but limitations and issues of the interface design and problem solving approach. We do not take any liability of direct or indirect consequences of bugs beyond the payment rewards described on this bug-free guarantee, period. We don't take any implied (absolute or not) liability on incorrect computations leading to wrong resource estimates, reservoir exploitation, characterization, or drilling. The software is provided "as it is", in the hope that it is useful for petrophysical modeling.
Bug-free applicability:
- The bug must be reproducible on our testing platform to be verified by our staff programmers. Occasional, random like errors, and glitches, are not included, as they are not consistently reproducible.
- The user must provide all details, sequential steps, and the same exact md5sum or sha1sum files in which the bug raises.
- We do not cover any guarantee regarding user written scripting source codes, fixings, or advices. We do not review nor endorse user written scripts. We only cover GUI platform bugs and our software source codes.
- Cases not covered, unclear, or undefined will be decided by GeolOil staff at our sole discretion.
-
Bug-free Rewards Program applies only to stable modules.
Modules on development, beta and alpha versions, are not covered by the bug-free guarantee. Currently, all 100% of GeolOil modules are stable and eligible for the bug-rewards program. -
Bug-free Guarantee supported platform.
Although GeolOil runs on most modern versions of Windows, MacOS, and Linux, the supported installation platform for the bug-free guarantee program is on Official Oracle Java-25, over Windows-11 running on screen resolutions of 1920x1080 pixels or higher. -
Exclusions
All Out of Memory Errors, even Memory Leaks are not covered by the bug-free guarantee. Other exclusions include low performance speed, bad file input formats, hardware errors (including storage), fire-wall and anti-virus blocking, network connections, time outs, license server update fails, and non-normal testing aimed to purposely crash the software.
